Each summer the Islands Folk Festival produces thousands of brochures, programs and posters to reach as wide an audience as possible. These are distributed all over Vancouver Island and many other areas of the Pacific Northwest. People with a love for our islands visit our web site everyday when making plans for the summer. But more importantly, the people here in the Valley do the same. Sponsorship Program
The Cowichan Folk Guild is a dynamic and progressive non-profit organization dedicated to "preserving and promoting folk performing arts" in the Cowichan Valley. For the past 24 years, we have done just that by building and sustaining the community through musical artistic expression.
Each year we host many events including: a monthly coffee house at Duncan United Church, concerts at the acoustically superb Chapel located at Providence Farm, community dances, Youth Jammer evenings, productions and co-productions with the Cowichan Theatre and numerous support activities for other non profit organizations and community groups within the Cowichan Region.
We also proudly host the world renowned annual Islands Folk Festival that is held at the beautiful and historic Providence Farm. This year marks our 26th Anniversary Folk Festival.

The Islands Folk Festival is a major multi-cultural event enjoyed by residents of the Cowichan Valley, drawing between 3,000 to 4,000 people from all around the world. According to a recent festival survey, 80% of visitors said they spend three to four days in the Valley during the festival. Festival attendees support local businesses with a variety of purchases while here in our area.
We give our heartfelt thanks to those who recognize the rewards of sponsorship and who have generously committed to this special, family friendly event. To those who have not yet participated in the Islands Folk Festival, we encourage you to come on board and discover the benefits of contributing to an extraordinary musical experience that is treasured by all who attend. Musicians Registry
The Cowichan Folk Guild is continually building a musicians registry. We often receive requests from venues and other organizations to supply musicians (and equipment) for their events. We would like to hear from you if you are an active muscian and would like to be considered as part of our gig referral service. Send us an email with your name, the instrument(s) you play, the main style of music, and your contact information. We will add this information to our registry and will contact you when an opportunity arises. Kind of like a free booking agency. First dibs of course will be given to Cowichan Folk Guild members in good standing. It's only fair that our valued members get the perks first. Not a member, well you just found another great reason to join up.
Got Bottles! We need them!
As part of the CFG’s fundraising activities we have set up an account at the Duncan recycling centre. After sorting your bottles and containers just tell the counter person you would like to donate your return to the Cowichan Folk Guild. Every penny helps. We really appreciate your support and it helps the environment too!
